When I'm not in the kitchen, I'm on the water. One word describes me perfectly: passionate. About food. About sailing. About fun.

Dad was a commercial fisherman early in life and loved to cook, and as the oldest son I was allowed to slice and dice. He always went to the farmers market as grocery stores were not fresh enough. Helping him transform a bag of food into a meal was a magic show. Later when I joined the Boy Scouts the cooking merit badge was like an easy elective.

My first job in a real restaurant kitchen came much later in life. The marina where we keep our boat had a help wanted sign. The plan was to work part time, sail part time - yea right. Starting as a prep cook I went on to line cook and then sous chef. Upon the departure of the head chef I was given the position. Not having formal training I now had to order food, create menus, and schedule staff. Thank God for Barnes and Noble and the Food Network. After a few years of 12-16 hour days and little sailing, I was sure there was a better way.

Hence,Jolly Mon Catering. Yes I borrowed the name from Jimmy Buffett, but he has lots of toys. We look forward to serving all of your food needs. We have the resources to arrange unforgettable on the water parties, first dates, marriage proposals, annniversaries, or any occasions.
